Faculty, Student Researchers Join e-Library Development Efforts

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The main library at Olivet University has made great efforts provide digital and network-oriented collections and services with the evolution of the university's e-Library.

Today, future directions are being pioneered by Olivet Institute of Technology (OIT), which has become an active participant in the university's e-library development efforts. Students and faculty in OIT's research program currently are investigating opportunities for the e-Library to deliver new, collaborative services with increased impact on a diverse, learning and research-oriented university community.

"OIT research projects in e-library, as well as search engine development will be contributions of great significance to OIT and the technology world as a whole," said Dr. Ching-Cheng Lee, Dean and Professor of Olivet Institute of Technology. "Along the way, students are also learning essential research skills for future ministry service and career development," he added.

Organizers say it is hoped that OIT participation in e-Library development will nurture a broader, multi-disciplinary research program at Olivet University and initiate a coalition of such projects across the university.
